Check out this award-winning Chevrolet Impala Wagon
This custom two-door Impala uses an 8.3-litre V8 with 600bhp
Here’s something a little different for you that should stand out in a sea of identikit EV SUVs. This is an award-winning, custom two-door Chevrolet Impala Wagon built by the Ranweiler family at its Minnesota-based shop Show Cars Automotive. Sleek.
It’s just been handed the Goodguys Snap-on Custom of the Year award in the US, having already won the Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama and the SEMA Battle of the Builders competition. Impressive (which ironically is the name the Ranweiler family gave their creation).
So it should be given it took nine years to build and finish, but just check out the detail. This actually began life as a four-door estate and has now been chopped into a two-door with a lower roof, custom B and C pillars and a more laid back windscreen.
The engine is a massive 600bhp 8.3-litre unit surrounded by over 100 one-off bits and bobs. The wheels are 18-inches up front and 20-inches at the rear, the front end gets a completely custom look and the interior uses a 1960 Impala dash and retrimmed 1959 Cadillac Eldorado seats.
What do we think of the build, Internet?
