Brabus reveals tuned CLA 45 AMG

Published: 26 Mar 2014

It's an oft-quoted truism that red ones go faster. Which is precisely how Brabus is differentiating its hopped-up CLA 45 AMG from the normal CLA 45 AMG. Well, that and adding 39bhp, and 37 lb ft of torque.

That brings the total output of Benz's turbocharged four-pot up to 394bhp, and 369lb ft, and the 0-62mph sprint down by 0.2 seconds to a piffling 4.2. The speed limiter's been deleted too, which means it'll hit 168mph. Benz's seven-speed twin-clutch paddle shift gearbox remains unchanged, though.

To back up the butch, it gets the aforementioned - and slightly horrid - red accents. They're on the painted 19-inch AMG alloys, around the grille, and on the door mirror casings.

There's also a new bit of trim on the front end, and a pair of spoilers. One's fitted to the rear section of the roof, and another underneath the boot lid.

Inside, it's a lot like everything else that comes out of Brabus' Bottropp-based tuning haus - floor to ceiling alcantara. Hmm...

There's no word on price, but budget for considerably more than the really quite good base car, which sells for £41,500.

How much would d'you think that red's worth?
