This is the Brabus Big Boy, a giant, luxury motorhome

Who needs a house when this, with its 4K TV, shower and decked-out kitchen exists?

Published: 05 Nov 2024

No, we’re not making the name up. This really is called the Big Boy, and it’s Brabus’ latest project - and first upscaled motorhome - built in collaboration with Belgian recreational vehicle specialists STX.

Based on a Mercedes-Benz Actros that’s then been chopped up and completely redesigned, the Big Boy measures in at a whopping 12 metres long, can be extended to 4.5 metres in width and provides over 30 square metres of classy living.

Inside, you’ll find grey, diamond-quilted leather seats and lots of lush carpeting, fine wood and Alcantara. That double bed looks wonderfully comfy too. Ideal for sitting and staring at the views from either the sunscreens above or the large panoramic window out wide. Provided you’re not parked up along a questionable street in Birmingham, that is.

Around the Big Boy’s sleeping accommodation you’ll spot a 43in 4K TV, a PS5 and a pair of sofas to enjoy those semi-competitive FC25 matches from. There’s an active Wi-Fi connection on tap too, so no need to hotspot off your iPhone.

The kitchen comes with everything you’ll need to rustle up a chef’s kiss meal: hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. A coffee machine and separate wine fridge are included too, and a large black dining table opposite this lot so you don’t have to sit and eat in awkward spots.

The last main section is the bathroom, which has also been through Brabus’ furniture division and comes with a rainforest shower and natural stone decor. Very nice.

Coating all this excellence is an all-black exterior, with key details including an illuminated Brabus logo, exposed carbon radiator grille and aftermarket roof light bar. There are 22.5in aluminium alloy wheels perched around that three-axle chassis too, with the whole unit shifted by a 12.8-litre turbo-diesel six-pot producing 523bhp and 1,918lb ft of torque. Top speed is capped at 56mph.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but we’re fairly sure you’ll need a Big Boy sum to own one.
