BMW reveals M Performance parts for the 2 Series Gran Coupe
New range of accessories for the 2GC. But do they make it any easier on the eye?
At the end of our story on the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, we asked whether you thought it was a step in the right direction for the company’s “increasingly wayward” design department. The answer, it seems, is “no” – looks like the vast majority of you think it’s a bit off. We tend to agree.
But maybe these new M Performance parts are enough to change your mind. From the 2GC’s launch next month, BMW will offer a load of bits with which you can augment your new four-door coupe/saloon thing. These range from shiny tips for your exhaust to blacked-out trim, a spoiler, carbon mirror caps and 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside you can have a fancy Alcantara steering wheel, carbon-look gear change paddles and floor mats with M Performance written on them. There’s also an M Performance key holder, and a set of slides for the LED puddle lights that “project your clear commitment to sporty driving onto the asphalt”. Oh dear.
The only real mechanical upgrade is a new set of brakes, with bigger discs and red callipers.
What do you reckon? Do any of these accessories improve the 2GC’s questionable looks?
