AC Schnitzer will give your BMW M4 Competition 602bhp
German tuner decides what the M4 Comp definitely needs is… more power
By most people’s standards, the BMW M4 Competition, complete with its 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six making 503bhp and 479lb ft of torque, is plenty powerful enough. And lo, it would seem that the folk at AC Schnitzer are not most people.
The German tuner is offering two performance package upgrades for both the coupe and the convertible, the first upping power to 582bhp and 533lb ft, and the second to a whopping 602bhp and 533lb ft. No word on how that directly impacts performance, but we’d imagine a slight improvement on the RWD coupe's 0-62mph time of 3.9secs and 180mph top speed. Phew.
Suspension upgrade options include new springs, which lower the M4 Comp by up to 20mm, or ‘RS’ coilovers that'll lower it by 40mm. New 20-inch lightweight AC3 or AC1 alloy wheels are also available, finished in silver/anthracite or glossy black.
Naturally, there’s also all manner of new body parts that claim to improve downforce – at speeds of 140mph, anyway – including a front splitter which adds 40kg, and, exclusive to the Coupe, a new rear wing which adds 50kg.
Optional interior upgrades include a retrimmed steering wheel in nappa leather and black Alcantara with centre marker, while otherwise it’s aluminium aplenty in the form of gearshift paddles, pedals, a footrest, the key holder and more. Makes a change from carbon, at least.
