Lotus 2-11 news - Eleventh heaven - 2007

Published: 01 Mar 2007

In the world of Lotus, too extreme is probably just about right. So we're guessing the boys from Hethel are pretty pleased with their 2-Eleven track car.

Tipping the scales at a featherweight 670kg and with 252bhp on tap from its supercharged 1.8-litre engine, the 2-Eleven dispatches 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds and tops out at 155mph.

Based on the Exige-S, the 2-Eleven is a pared-down, open-top version of that car and it's intended mostly for track day junkies seeking the ultimate fix.

The track car costs £39,995, but for an additional £1,100 you can have it made fully road legal, which should make the 2-Eleven the most extreme Lotus road car ever.
