Gok Wan will drive a Vauxhall Ampera
"The modern and futuristic look and feel of the Vauxhall Ampera is similar to Gok's innovative style." These are the words straight from Vauxhall, breathlessly relaying the news that fashion man Gok Wan is to drive an Ampera while scooting around London and so forth. Yes, this happened.
"Because it's electric," Gok enthused, "I don't have to pay the congestion charge when me and Dolly go on our little trips into town. And you know how much I love a bargain." Dolly, apparently, is Gok's miniature bulldog. TG is quietly hoping nakedness does not occur in the electric Vauxhall.Advertisement - Page continues belowThe first 500 European Ford Mustangs have Gone In 30 Seconds
During the recent European final footballing cup series that took place between a couple of Spanish teams, more than 9,300 people registered their interest to buy one of 500 new Ford Mustangs.
In fact, Ford tell us the first 500 registrations came within just 30 seconds of the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid. Which means, of course, we can roll out the ‘gone in 30 seconds' line legitimately.South Korea will have women-only car parking spaces
In an interview with the Korea Times, South Korea's Assistant Mayor for Women and Family Affairs Cho Eun-hee declared that the city is to create ‘she-spots': women-only parking spaces.
While not-at-all-sexist-in-any-way-whatsoever, these spots are apparently wider, longer, outlined in pink and identified by a skirt-wearing pink figure.
"It is like adding a female touch to a universal design and make things more comfortable for women," Eun-hee said. Nope, not sexist at all.Advertisement - Page continues belowVolkswagen's Worthersee concept is a roofless terror
Seems VW has channeled the spirit of Lamborghini's Aventador J, because at this year's annual VW tuning meet in Worthersee, it has built a roofless Golf GTI. With a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6. And 500bhp. And 412lb ft of torque. And a 0-62mph time of 3.6 seconds. And a top speed of 192mph. Better wear a helmet.
The original Skoda RS is 40 years old which means we can legitimately run this excellent picture
Skoda wanted to go racing in 1974, and thus introduced the first ever ‘RS' badged models in its history, the 180 RS and 200 RS. Both ran in competition for the first time in June of '74, with the 200 RS packing a 160bhp 2.0-litre engine and top speed of 135mph.
Which is great. And allows us to gawp at this lovely picture of the original 200 RS.A Renault used in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade is coming up for sale!
If you grew up in the 1980s, then we have a slice of reasonably-priced excellence you will not want to miss. A 1928 Renault Type NN Tourer used in the third Indiana Jones movie - starring Harrison Ford and Sean Connery - is coming up for auction.
The yellow Renault was resprayed black for its role in the film in 1988 - in the famous scene with a replica of a 1917 army tank - and was returned to the UK once filming had been completed for a ‘sympathetic' renovation.
We're told the car comes with a four-cylinder engine that returns a claimed 40mpg and can hit 50mph, an experience we'd imagine is a trifle clenching.
It's estimated to sell at the Brooklands Museum in the Historics auction for between £9,000 and £14,000 next month. If it doesn't hit five figures at least, we'll eat our sun-bleached fedoras.Bentley has won its first UK race for 84 years
Last weekend at the second round of the Blancpain Endurance Series at Silverstone, the M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3 recorded its first ever victory, making it the first time Bentley has won a UK race since 1930.
The monster Bentley Conti GT3 - the most unlikely-looking and therefore most TG-esque GT racer we've ever seen - recovered from a drive-through penalty to take the lead with just 15 minutes of the race left. We've seen this thing up close and can testify to its beastliness.
Well done, chaps.Advertisement - Page continues belowThere is a McLaren owners tour currently happening over in Tuscany and TG desperately wants to be there
Here is a picture of a pair of McLaren F1s on the road. You want to be on this tour, and not sat at your desk staring at a Ten Things We Learned This Week.
Audi has built a TENT
While Volkswagen unleashed the roofless, 500bhp Golf GTI Roadster concept onto an unsuspecting Worthersee crowd, Audi has responded with... a giant TENT.
Developed for the Q3, it can be rolled out from the roof rack, inflated and assembled within seven minutes. The tent, which can connect to the open boot of the Audi, boasts a 'wind load rating' of up to 43mph, or less for different varieties of campstove-heated beans.
In fairness, Audi did also cook up this 525bhp A3 for the Worthersee faithful. Catering to every taste, there.

If you watch this loud, shouty trailer video for Mexico's bonkers Baja 500 race, you will be amazed by the resilience of the Baja buggies and no doubt tempted to join in what looks like a lot of fun. But as our very own Ollie Marriage will confirm, the Baja is no joke. Still, watch this video.
