Landspeeder news - You want it - 2008

There's no more iconic a personal land vehicle to your average 30-something than Luke Skywalker's X-34 Landspeeder from Star Wars.

And 20-year-old American Daniel Deutsch knows this. He knows it so well in fact that he's built a full-size, fully operational one.

Oh ok, so it doesn't really hover like the one in the movie, but has electric powered wheels that create the illusion of a hover car.

It'll top out at about 25mph and has a range of a few miles. So it's probably not fast enough to outrun the Sand People, but what the hell? We want one.

Imagine flying into the drive-through in it...
