Gordon Brown is scared. He won't admit it - and, in any case, would you be able to tell if he was? - but he's definitely scared.

You want proof? Take a look at this YouTube video, an official release from 10 Downing Street in response to the 'Make JC Prime Minister' petition on the government's website, which has almost 50,000 signatures. And a few more, by the end of today, we'd guess.

See, they're worried aren't they? Trying to laugh it off, like they're not bothered at all.

A Downing St spokesman told us today that the video was 'a lighthearted response a lighthearted petition', and confirmed that Gordon Brown was aware of the campaign to install our beloved leader as prime minister.

However, the spokesman would not comment on the possibility of some sort of advisory, non-ministerial position for Clarkson within the cabinet.

Jeremy for Prime Minister? Pah! He's got much bigger plans than that.
