Caterham Seven news - Seven daze - 2007
Go on, have a guess, how much power do you think the Caterham Seven Roadsport 150 has?
One hundred and fifty B of your HP, we hear you say tentatively? Absolutely spot on.
Caterham has got its mitts on the 150bhp version of the Ford engine that now powers its cars and has created this version with a whopping 270bhp per tonne.
That's into serious supercar territory and means the Roadsport devastates 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds, which is great value when you buy the car and build it yourself for £17,495.
If this still sounds a bit slow for you, there's a Superlight version with 50kg stripped from the Seven's minimalist frame to give 300bhp per tonne and 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds.
The Superlight is identified by carbon-fibre wings, firmer suspension and a six-speed gearbox, and costs £20,495 to build in your garage.
Caterham has other new models up its sleeve to celebrate the Seven's 50th anniversary, including a limited edition anniversary model and a big party at the Donnington circuit.
