Volvo’s V90 estate has returned with a pair of hybrid powertrains and a £62k price tag
The smaller V60 has also made a comeback and includes an entry-level 200bhp ‘T4’ version
Following Volvo’s decision to bring estates back into its lineup (hurrah!), we’ve now got confirmation of pricing: £43,370 for the V60 and £62,280 for the V90.
And since they’re now officially available for order, it’s probably important to know what powertrains they’ll have, right? Correct: and it’ll be a series of plug-in hybrid units (plus one mild hybrid for the V60). They’ll scale from 200bhp in the entry-level ‘T4’ V60 to well over 300bhp in the much fruitier ‘T6’ and ‘T8’ versions of both cars.
You’ll also have a choice of front or all-wheel drive, though the latter will bump the price up a noticeable amount and plateau at nearly £71,000 for the range-topping V90 T8.
The decision to bring both estates back has come following a ‘rise in customer demand’, which has apparently happened because Volvo realised people quite… like Volvo estates. Anyway, no radical exterior changes have come with the reboot, so it’s still good ol’ simple, robust design language furnished with more safety technology than Optimus Prime.
First customer deliveries are penned in for the third quarter of this year. Long live the estate, we hope.
