How are you speccing your new McLaren GT?
It’s a grand tourer, says McLaren. Not a supercar. So play it tastefully…
Got your head round the McLaren GT yet? If not, reading this should help. It’s a mid-engined V8 carbon-tubbed two-seater with 612bhp and a top speed of over 200mph, but it’s not a supercar. It’s a long-legged, comfy GT, apparently. You get the sense that if McLaren designed an animal with orange and black stripes, a long tail and sharp teeth, they’d insist it was a tropical fish rather than a tiger.
You can’t spec your McLaren GT with orange and black stripes, so far as we can work out. But now there’s a whole new supercar configurator to play with, and with that you may kiss goodbye to your afternoon and suss out the most tasteful, refined, subtle ways to spec McLaren’s grown-up, not-a-supercar car.
You can find your way to the configurator here, and as ever, the TopGear office has created an appetiser, a little mood board of choices, if you will, in the gallery above.
There are no prices on McLaren’s visualiser, so don’t be shy with the options…
