Facelifted Renaultsport Twingo
At the beginning of the year Renault's little Twingo got a facelift. Now the hot Twingos - the standard R.S and Gordini R.S - have had the same visual revamp.
Going on sale in mid-March, the new R.S gets a beefier front bumper and an ‘F1-style blade'. This blade has no F1-esque aerodynamic benefit, so don't expect some secret DRS button in the glovebox. Round the back [delete] There's also new rear spoiler and bumper with added diffuser, together with some lightly puffed-up arches.
Inside there's the typical Renaultsport yellow stitching, unless you go for the Gordini model, which for the first time has a choice of either a blue or grey trim.
There's no change mechanically, so it still gets a normally-aspirated 1.6-litre engine producing 131 bhp at 6,750rpm, and 160Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. And as ever you can spec a Cup chassis if you fancy having an argument with your spine.
No word on pricing either, but expect to pay around £13,000 when the car goes on sale.
