Bad luck: the Toyota GR Yaris is sold out until 2023

The Toyota GR Yaris is bloody brilliant, as you’ll know if you’re read or watched our reviews.

But brilliance doesn’t always guarantee commercial success – the homologation special may have been incredibly well received by the entire automotive press, but it could so easily have failed to sell in the numbers its maker had hoped for. 

Turns out Toyota need not have worried, though, for it has just announced the GR Yaris is sold out until 2023. Yup – all that excellent press and some very tasty finance deals mean the GR has been so popular, that every single car due to land in Britain over the next 18 months is now spoken for. 

A new waiting list opens on July 12th for anyone who’s missed the boat, but you probably won’t get your car until 2023.

If you’re in the UK and want a GR Yaris RIGHT NOW you’ll have to buy a lightly used one from the classifieds, likely for a bit more money than you’d pay Toyota for a brand new one (£33,520 with the all-important Circuit Pack).
