Goodwood Festival of Speed 2017

Ever remember that MTV show, Cribs? Well, we imagine it could only have been improved if it used this format, rather than the “this is all the horrifically expensive chintz I own; envy me” that used to be the show’s usual modus operandi.

So, we won’t say that it’s the most thorough guide of an estate you’ve ever had but, unlike a guided audiobook of Balmoral Castle, it doesn’t spend too much time talking about the greenhouse and how the composition of the soil affects the plants. Ask us how we know that. ASK US.

Of course, the video is as cheesy as a wheel of Pecorino with a Double Brie finisher, but do you really need an excuse to watch race cars fang around perhaps the most famous English estate after Downton Abbey?*

Oh, you actually do need an excuse? Er, hang on, we’ve got something.

"Viewers can experience the unlikely partnership of Mike and Monty form as they take on the many exciting aspects of what the festival has to offer," we're told. "This includes iconic Goodwood sites like the Off-road Arena, The Kennels Clubhouse, Rally Stage and the GAS (Goodwood Action Sports) Arena, as well as Mike taking on the legendary Hill Climb in his Mazda MX5.

So, there you go. Now watch.
