Geneva Motor Show 2020

The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is finally in Geneva

The drivers' Bugatti is in Switzerland, four months after its cancelled show debut

Published: 20 Jul 2020

Earlier this year, Bugatti showed off the Chiron Pur Sport.

It’s the ‘driver’s’ Chiron, with new tyres, stiffer suspension, a higher redline, shorter gearing and a slicing of its top speed – to a still-quite-alright 217mph - all helping ensure it’s more fun in slightly more accessible circumstances than the 300mph special edition at the other end of the range.

The Pur Sport was due its big, glorious reveal at the 2020 Geneva motor show in March, which you’ll have no doubt surmised didn’t happen. But intent on proving a point – Bugatti’s rather good at that, as its 300mph production car evidences – the car has finally been revealed in the Swiss city, albeit in front of its famous Jet d’Eau fountain as opposed to the sweaty, mullet-filled halls of the Palexpo. It’s arguably much better this way.

“After four months, one digital presentation and seven successful appearances in some of Europe’s most beautiful cities, the Chiron Pur Sport finally arrived in Geneva – the place where its world premiere had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” reads the bumf, as Bugatti Geneva welcomed the car into the city.

Want one? Just 60 will be made, priced at three million euros apiece.
