Want a Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 steering wheel for your sim rig? Moza’s made it happen

For a mere £1,300, the CAD-accurate official replica could be yours

Published: 25 Oct 2024

It’s universal, isn’t it? That feeling when you’re putting in lap after lap in a racing sim, refining your brake markers to the millimetre and googling the exact rake angle the esports pros use, and you think to yourself: this would all be a lot easier if I was using a £1,300 steering wheel that looked exactly like the one in a Lamborghini Essenza SCV12

Finally, sim racing manufacturer Moza has met that need. Developed in partnership with Lamborghini using CAD data from the real wheel and stress tested for up to “a million test cycles”, the Essenza SCV12 wheel is as decadent as sim racing setups get, and it’s shipping from early November onwards.

As reported by Traxion, It’s compatible with all current Moza wheelbases, and using Moza’s universal hub kit you can whack it onto other manufacturers’ wheelbases too.

You can see it in action in this CG-heavy trailer. The quick release mechanism is crafted from aluminium to motorsport standard, so if it feels a bit wrong to be haring about in a 488 EVO GT3 using a Lamborghini wheel, you can easily swap it out for some hardware bearing the prancing horse instead. Horses for courses, etc.

Want some numbers? How about 72 programmable inputs, including eight buttons, four thumb knobs, and four 12-position rotary knobs? That’s enough for Lewis Hamilton levels of mid-lap tinkering, with several dozen inputs still going spare for camera adjustments and menu controls.

You can customise everything from the colours of the LED rev indicator to the layout of the 4.3-inch touchscreen LCD display, and the wheel grips are finished in suede leather. Time to double down on that ‘no Wotsits near the sim rig’ rule…
