Gaming: F1 Clash adds legendary drivers like Schumacher, Fittipaldi and more
The grid just got a lot more star-studded in Hutch’s mobile racer
If you’re still not over the 2008 F1 driver’s championship and want to see Massa and Hamilton fight it out on track rather than the courtroom, F1 Clash’s legendary driver update just scratched your very particular itch.
The latest update to Hutch’s popular mobile F1 management game adds an impressive lineup of legendary drivers: Alain Prost, David Coulthard, Emerson Fittipaldi, Felipe Massa, Mario Andretti, Michael Schumacher, Sir Jackie Stewart and Jacques Villeneuve.
You can unlock, manage and race each of these legends under the banner of your own team, which should make for quite the silly season next time the contracts are up. Imagine being an underperforming driver and knowing that multiple world champions are knocking on the door. “You’re really going to need to get into Q3 this time mate, Alain Prost wants your seat.”
This being a mobile game however, there’s a bit of grind involved. These legends are unlocked by playing the Collection Milestones reward track, also newly introduced in this latest update, and gathering Collection points. That’s the currency you need to upgrade your existing drivers, until both driver and car are maxed out and the likes of Schumi and co are unlocked as rewards.
The specific legendary drivers available vary from season to season, but they remain in the hall of fame.
F1 Clash released in 2019, and was nominated for ‘best racing game’ at the TIGA Games Industry Awards.
