Watch: the trailer for Keanu Reeves’ Brawn GP doc has dropped
And it looks ace. Who better to guide you through F1’s best underdog story than John Wick himself?
Less than two weeks to go until Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story lands on Disney+, and we have an intense trailer to whet the appetite. Excuse us while we get the popcorn ready.
In said trailer - which you can watch for yourself below - Keanu Reeves sets out his “fascination with racing” before saying: “I’m going to share a story that barely seems believable.”
Fortunately for us that story isn’t The Matrix Resurrections, but that of Brawn GP; the £1 F1 team that came oh so close to vanishing from the grid only to pop up in 2009 with a championship-winning car.
Cue several billboard-worthy quotes. “This was the start of the war.” “This team that everybody had just wanted to survive… is killing us.” “The knives were out, and they were after us.” “You either push to the limit, or you’re nothing… we pushed to the limit.”
Cor. All the key figures are involved: team owner Ross Brawn himself, ex-F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, rival boss Christian Horner and of course eventual champ Jenson Button, taking a break from flogging Lotuses and Radfords.
As we found out last month, the four-part series is a North One Production produced by Simon Hammerson and three-time BAFTA winner Neil Duncanson, which Daryl Goodrich directs.
The doc drops on Disney+ (and can be streamed on Hulu) on 15 November. Set those reminders, folks.
