Video: your first look at F1's new Baku street circuit
Hamilton and co will rock up in Azerbaijan in June. Here’s where they’ll be racing
The Formula One calendar contains a hefty 21 races this year, thanks in part to the return of the ‘European Grand Prix’ which will be held at the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan.
The addition of another street circuit was met with groans of disappointment by many fans around the world, a sentiment reinforced when it became apparent that turns 8, 9 and 10 were barely wide enough to squeeze a car through, never mind two abreast.
However as the video above shows, things might not be quite as bad as first feared. At 6km the track is second only to Spa-Francorchamps in terms of length, and plenty of the circuit looks wide enough to offer the kind of passing opportunities that Monaco, for example, does not.
So will it be a one-stop procession or an overtaking free-for-all? Place your bets...
