Video: learn the Mexican GP track with Sergio Perez

F1 returns to Mexico City after a 23-year absence. Here’s how things have changed

The last time Formula One raced at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Nigel Mansell was yet to become world champion. That was in the early 90s, and the Mexican Grand Prix has been off the calendar ever since.

Numerous attempts to revive it had been unsuccessful, until now. The circuit’s bumps have been ironed out, and some reworking of the track layout means the country’s capital now boasts a 4.3km circuit complete with 17 corners and one mighty looking straight.

And who better to poke around a simulation of the new design than Force India’s Sergio Perez, who will become only the third Mexican after Pedro Rodriguez and Moises Solana to race in a home grand prix when the lights go out on Sunday.
