Now’s your chance to buy a GP-winning Lewis Hamilton F1 car

Lewis’s 2010 Turkish Grand Prix winning McLaren is heading up for auction

Published: 19 May 2021

Multimillionaires of the world, rejoice, for this is the very first time that a Lewis Hamilton Formula 1 car has been offered for public sale.

This isn’t just any old Lewis F1 car though (if there is such a thing given that the man is now a seven-time World Champion and a living legend). This is the 2010 McLaren Mercedes MP4-25A that Hamilton drove to victory at the 2010 Turkish Grand Prix.

It won’t be any old auction when the MP4-25A is sold, either, because rather than crossing the block the McLaren will be driven around Silverstone as the bids roll in. Yep, the 2.4-litre V8 engine is still fully operational and the heritage departments of both McLaren and Mercedes will help the lucky buyer run it. Oh to be rich…

The one-off auction will take place on the Saturday afternoon of the British GP race weekend just before the first ever Sprint Qualifying Race in Formula 1. Hopefully the auctioneer doesn’t start the bidding too low, though, because with an estimate of between $5m - $7m it may take some time to bring the hammer down.
