Hot Wheels reveals eight new teeny F1 cars and tracks with 'DRS' zones
Time to relive your favourite on-track battles from the comfort of your sofa
Missed out on a seat for the 2025 Formula One season? Worry not, because you’ll soon be able to battle your on-track nemesis or get a warning from the FIA, right from the comfort of your living room sofa.
That’s because the next stage of Hot Wheels’ collaboration with Formula One is here: a series of official 1:64 scale cars and a pair of racetracks that have functioning DRS zones. They’re really just shortcuts on the circuits activated using manual pedals, and not the fancy rear wing wizardry you get in the real cars, but it’s a cool gimmick to teach your little ones about the importance of timing.
Speaking of the cars, you’ll have a choice between the cheaper Singles models or the Premium die-casts. Opt for the latter, and you get a metal body and chassis, Pirelli-branded tyres and a teeny driver positioned in the cockpit. The liveries are also much more detailed than they are on the Singles, with up to eight teams currently confirmed including McLaren and Red Bull. Aston and Ferrari... aren't.
As for the tracks, two choices will be available: the Sprint Race Circuit (an oval) and the Grand Prix Race Circuit (an oval... just longer). Regardless of which you choose, you’ll get thrusters in the mid-section of the track along with the DRS zones.
The tracks will launch this autumn, costing £44.99 for the Sprint Circuit and £79.99 for the GP Circuit. Each Premium car will be priced at £10.99 - or you can have a mixed five-pack of Singles cars for £11.50.
