As Sebastian Vettel wins, here's all the action from London's Olympic Stadium

  • Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel added another trophy to his groaning mantelpiece on Saturday, as the four-time world champion prevailed in the Race of Champions at London’s Olympic Stadium.

Having lost out in the final of the Nations Cup alongside Nico Hulkenberg to England’s Jason Plato and Andy Priaulx the previous night, Seb redeemed himself by winning the individual event for the first time in his career.

Vettel beat nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen in the last race, consigning the Dane to his fourth Race of Champions final defeat. Kristensen also lost at the final hurdle in 2005, 2011 and 2012.

“I’m very happy and honoured to win,” said Vettel afterwards. “A lot of world class racing drivers have won this trophy. I’ve tried to win this many times and failed many times but finally I’ve succeeded.”

He added: “It was very cold but it was a great atmosphere so thank you very much to everyone for coming to watch.”

Kristensen also paid tribute to the fans, who turned up despite an Arctic front plunging temperatures in the capital. “ROC is all about fun and it was good to see so many people watching in the cold conditions,” said the 48-year-old. “Apart from Seb, the main achievement today was by the people who have been here supporting this great event.”

2014 ROC winner David Coulthard and Blancpain Endurance Champion Alex Buncombe made it as far as the semi-finals this year, while the likes of Jenson Button, Daniel Ricciardo and Petter Solberg exited in the last 16 stage.

It was also a poignant night for Susie Wolff, who made her last appearance as a racing driver having announced her retirement from motorsport nearly three weeks ago.

So without further ado, here are the rest of the highlights from two days of cross-discipline racing...
