Gallery: the best images from F1 testing in Bahrain

Well, we’ve now seen all 10 new F1 cars in action, with the three-day, pre-season shakedown concluding at the weekend. We learned a lot (including the nugget that team members were flying in with new parts in their luggage) and while the pecking order isn’t clear just yet, there’s plenty of intrigue ahead of the new campaign.

Attention now turns to the first race of the season. Or it will shortly: before then why not have a proper ogle at this year’s machines? As seen through the lenses of the many great photographers employed to make F1 cars (and everything around them) dazzle for your enjoyment/sponsor exposure.

A few highlights to look out for in the gallery above: Valtteri Bottas’s magnificent helmet-and-visor-tear-off combo, the whopping great, um, aero grate on the AlphaTauri and the sparks flying off the Haas VF-23.

Oh, and there’s a good smattering of visor-up-concentration-stares too. A staple of motorsport photography, that.
