F1's new 3sec ident has a dog in a helmet and what the hell
Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
F1 has a new soundtrack. Sorry, a new “sonic” identity, whatever that means. Ground-breaking too, apparently. It is also three seconds long.
Yep, three seconds. F1 has teamed up with The Chemical Brothers to create a three-second track (sorry) from their song “We've Got To Try”. This song was said to have been 'broken down', 're-engineered' and 'accelerated to 15,000 beats per minute to reflect the 15,000 revs per minute' etc etc. It has an incredibly catchy title, too. “WGTT 15000BPM F1 NEEEUM MIX”. We are not joking. That is the name.
But if you aren’t finding any of this completely bizarre then you will be when you see the music video. Oh boy, the music video. The full track for The Chemical Brothers' “We’ve Got to Try” tells the story of heroic canine “Girl the Dog” and her mission to complete the impossible. And yes, that includes the dog in the film driving an F1 car. Belief, consider yourself very much suspended. F1 tells us this new song will be the sound of the 2019 season.
So every time an F1 race is on we get to see a three second clip of a dog and an F1 car to music all sped up to 15,000 beats.
You can watch the three second clip here, and the full video above. Now, we're all for dogs in cars doing amazing things. Because dogs are amazing. Heck, we desperately want to hear the dog's radio messages too. But can can anyone explain what on earth is going on?
