Buy Senna’s last ever go-kart

Published: 05 Feb 2015

Is this one of the finest bits of Ayrton Senna memorabilia? Here, via Bonhams, may we present to you the three-time Formula One world champion's last ever go-kart, offered up for auction.

The estimated price is between £18,000 and £21,000, which means for less than many things you can buy for that amount of money - things like an Ariel Atom or BMW 2-Series Coupe - you can purchase this 1981 DAP Kart that one of the greatest drivers in history sat in.

Though it's not entirely original; the body/chassis remains the same, but the kart was originally purchased by present owner Angelo Parilla (of DAP) without the engine. An identical engine as used by Senna has been installed, so it'll move and everything.

It just won't move as well as it would were Senna in the seat. But, y'know, you can give it a shot. Check out the link here, and tell us if this is a suitable track-day toy...
