Your first look at the new Skoda Superb

We'll be brief, because there's not much to report, but here's your first taste of the upcoming new Skoda Superb saloon.

OK yes, it's a design sketch (along with a couple of camo'd shots), and yes, we've still got a month or so to wait before we see the finished product, but it's a big one for Skoda. It's the company's flagship, and has long been a bastion of high value for little outlay.

This new one then, promises to add a little more design flair to the proceedings, taking cues from the lovely Vision C concept car we saw earlier this year. There's much talk of "sculptural shapes, purist precision and elegant lines".

We'll bring you more as we get it, but this new Superb will likely sit on VW's MQB platform - bringing with it lots of weight saving - along with the Group's range of petrol and diesel engines; you're looking at anything from a small turbo petrol to a 2.0-litre diesel.

It'll be revealed in February, with a world debut at the Geneva show in March. Stay tuned...
