A new dawn beckons for Aston Martin. In a few months time, we’ll see the brand new DB9 replacement, dubbed ‘DB11’. Before that comes, we have news about the engine that’s powering it.

Well, when we say ‘news’, we really mean ‘noise’. Aston has just released this teaser of a brand new V12 that’ll see service in the new DB11. And you must press play on the video above and turn it up immediately.

Sounds good, no? It’s a brand new, 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, developed in-house by Aston Martin. And yes, you read that right, twin-turbo. After years of knocking out some of the finest naturally aspirated engines in the supercar world, Aston has joined the turbocharging fraternity.

It was inevitable, though, and we’re at least glad – as they’ve promised in the past – that the company remains committed to the big, hearty V12. Good.

Power? Expect it to become the most powerful V12 engine Aston has ever built. Outside of the One-77 and Vulcan, of course. Bank on around 600bhp, possibly more.

Coupled to the DB11’s brand new underpinnings and a new design part inspired by the gorgeous DB10 Bond car and Vulcan, we can’t wait to find out more.
