This is the Renault Megane Grand Coupe
Won't be sold in the UK. That's fine because it's not as exciting as you think
News from the continent: there’s a new version of the Renault Megane coming, but it’s not for us. Yep, Renault has been doing this a lot lately. First there was the Espace, then the Talisman and Talisman Estate, and now this, the Megane Grand Coupe – another pretty good-looking Renault Brits can’t have.
But worry not, because the Megane Grand Coupe is not as, erm, grand as it sounds. It’s essentially a three-box saloon version of the new Megane hatch, which we very much do get in the UK. So not only is it not grand, its not a coupe either. Well played, Renault.
It’ll be built in Turkey and sold in 20 markets including Australia, the UAE, much of Eastern Europe and Ireland – places where more conventional saloons appeal over five-door hatchbacks. Two petrols and three diesels are available - some with autos, others with manuals – but the exact make-up of the range depends on the market.
So Internet, is the Megane GC worth Renault bringing to the UK?
