The new Porsche Panamera has many, many screens inside
There’s a new third-gen Panamera coming, and Porsche has given us a glimpse of the interior
Are you a high-rolling businessperson that spends their life on the Autobahn? Well, we have good news for you – a new Porsche Panamera is coming.
Yep, Porsche says it will unveil the third generation Panamera in full on 24 November, but before then it has released a few interior pictures so that prospective customers can acquaint themselves with their new office.
Looks a fair bit like the inside of the new Cayenne, doesn’t it? Most of the hardware is the same to be fair, with the 12.6-inch curved driver display, 12.3-inch central touchscreen and 10.9-inch passenger screen (which uses a special film so it can’t be seen from the driver’s seat) all present and correct.
You’re a whole lot more cocooned in the Panamera than you are in the Cayenne though, with the centre console and its physical climate control switches sitting nice and close to your hand. Bigger storage bin in that centre console now too, apparently. Oh, and the gear selector has moved to behind the steering wheel.
Porsche says the new-gen Panamera “creates the perfect balance between analogue and digital elements”, and there are proper switches and toggles on the steering wheel rather than the useless haptic touch elements you see elsewhere. Still an analogue clock up on top of the dash too, although we’re told that the air vents are now “completely finless and electrically adjustable”. Sounds annoying already.
What else is there? Well, Porsche reckons it’s a more comfortable place to sit than before, with “improved seat foam materials” and there will be a leather-free interior option that uses materials like Race-Tex and Pepita fabric. That’s a first for the Panamera.
