It’s the new Nissan Micra!
You are about to read a sentence that could quite literally have zero effect on your heart rate. Brace yourselves: it's the heavily facelifted Nissan Micra.
You still with us? Well, you probably should pay some attention, because this car is Nissan's third best selling model in the UK - losing out to the Juke and Qashqai - and will likely be pottering along a major road artery with traffic clogging up behind it. You see, it's a bit of a hero in the just-learned-to-drive and hearing-aid circles.
And when this new Micra was released, it was quite a hideous thing to behold, hence Nissan's haste in changing the face. As such, Nissan has changed the bonnet, the front wings, the headlights, the front bumper and the fog lights, together with a new grille. There's also a new rear bumper, new LED rear lights and a panel at the bottom of the tailgate. There are brand new 15in alloy wheels and ‘machine finished' 16in options, too.
Inside, Nissan has used a gloss black finish on the centre console, new seat and door pad fabrics and a different type of fabric for the Visia and Acenta trim levels. The top-spec Tekna gets a suede-like fabric. Tasty.
There's also a dash-mounted auxillary input, USB slot and a 12v socket, and the NissanConnect sat nav and communication system. Some Google things are available on this, such as point of interest search functions, and the ability to plan a journey at home and send it to the car's nav.
A parking aid is available, as are rear park sensors and a parking slot measurement, which probably tells you much about the intended demographic for this car. Engine wise, you get a 1.2-litre supercharged petrol engine developing around 95bhp, and just 95g/km of CO2.
Have a click through the pics and then let us know what you think of the redesign, below. Try to remember that Nissan also makes the 370Z and the bombastic GT-R. No please, remember that.
