Here's your first look at the striking new BMW Neue Klasse saloon
BMW’s future is looking... frosty
These are the first images of the BMW 'Neue Klasse' saloon from some cold-weather testing. Clean, fresh and, well, cold, it's pretty close to the original concepts we were shown last Autumn.
This is going to be the future of the 3 Series; an all-electric version, built from the ground up. The front end - despite the camo - looks sleeker and the BMW kidney grille has shrunken to a more demure design (adopting the pre-meme definition of the word).
Group design director Adrian van Hooydonk confirmed the Neue Klasse series will start with the iX3 launch this year, before this one follows in 2026. They’ll have those fancy Gen6 batteries, a radical new electronic architecture, and an interior space that wouldn’t look out of place in a sci-fi movie.
Futuristic this may be, but that shape's a welcome throwback. Long live the saloon?
