Here’s a tease of Vauxhall’s new face

No, not the suited man. The car, under the blanket. Can it save stuttering Vauxhall?

Published: 01 Aug 2018

Behold: the new face of Vauxhall. Coming at you via a drawn-out teaser campaign.

Here we see the new Vauxhall GT C Experimental brand concept. Only a bit of it, mind, because the full excitement of seeing the future of Vauxhall’s design language must be contained. But we can observe that the GT X concept looks like it’ll be a bit crossover-y, and have the ‘Vizor’ lights-in-the-grille styling treatment that’ll mark out new Vauxhalls in the next decade.

Yep, ‘Vizor’. Vauxhall says “the headlights, daytime running lights, the cameras and sensors of the assistance systems, along with the Griffin are framed and protected by a unique design element. This element is reminiscent of the eye slot of a motorbike helmet and called Vizor”.

There’s also plenty of bullish chat for the GT X concept itself. “It will embrace its core values – British, Ingenious, Progressive and Approachable – and provide a template for the future design of its production cars”, says Vauxhall. Not to mention give Vauxhall a much-needed kick up the design backside as it looks to emulate the styling and interior revamp success of its new parent brands, Peugeot-Citroen.

Vauxhall’s Mark Adams added: “We are a proud British brand and design inspiration is all around us in the UK – from the bold ingenuity of James Dyson to the pure designs of Jonathan Ive – and this concept will embody that.”

So, more Apple and Dyson-spec design cool for your next Corsa, we’re promised. Excited?
