McLaren MP4/4 Formula One (£69.99)
If you don’t see the McLaren MP4/4 and automatically think of Ayrton Senna, are you truly a car person? As it happens, this Lego even comes with a miniature figurine of the three-time champ, standing on a winner’s podium, trophy in hand. With a total of 693 pieces to assemble the legendary 1988 season car, you can’t go wrong with this as an evening pass time. Unless you’re related to Alain Prost, that is.

Built by Audi in 2022 as a commemorative one-off of its fearsome Group B rally car, the S1 ‘Hoonitron’ went on to represent so much more than just that. The late Ken Block used it as the centre-piece for his second ‘Electrikhana’ performance, and if it was good enough for him, it’s good enough for us.
NEOM McLaren Formula E (£46.99)
Formula E celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and how better to join in with the celebrations than a 452-piece McLaren competitor? This is also one of the few cars on this list which has a ‘pull-back’ option. If you haven’t figured it out already, this means you pull it back along the carpet and watch it fly at around 300mph straight towards your parent’s fondue sets.

Featured in this twin-pack are two of BMW’s most well-known endurance racers at present. You even get a pair of figurines, who we’ll call Greg and Joe for fictional purposes. Once the 676 pieces come together, you’ll see that both the M4 GT3 and M Hybrid V8 even have removable roofs attached. Easy access for Greg and Joe, then.
McLaren MCL60 Formula One (£20.99)
The 2022/23 Formula One season saw McLaren celebrate its 60th anniversary in the sport, and at the hands of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the MCL60 managed a respectable fourth-placed finish. If you’re a fan, or just have a strange obsession with Orange is the New Black, this would make for quite the TV stand ornament.
Ford Mustang Dark Horse (£20.99)
A new edition to the Ford Mustang range, and set to be one of its most hardcore yet, the Dark Horse sports all the cool splitters, wings and vents that so delight kids and adults alike. It’s just what the world needs with the emergence of more SUVs by the second, and if you can’t own one for real today, this is the perfect way to prepare you for ownership someday.
Mercedes-AMG W14 Formula One (£20.99)
Bringing the list to a close is the second pull-back toy and one of the simpler on this list to make. Just 240 pieces are bolted together to create this imitation of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s 2023 competition car, but for those who think it’s a bit short on detail, worry not as there’s a (significantly) pricier alternative…

Yep, for around nine times as much, you can own a massive 1,642-piece replica of the W14. Everything from the front wing to the wheel caps and even the symmetry of the huge air intake is close to spot on. If you remove the engine cover, you even see the six-cylinder hybrid engine has moving pistons. It’s pricey, but it’s one hell of a way to celebrate... finishing second.
