The BMW Z4 Final Edition is the final edition of the BMW Z4

BMW will kill off its two seater next March, so it’s bowing out with a... tame special edition

Published: 26 Nov 2025

Sad news in the shrinking world of two-door, two-seat roadsters: production of the BMW Z4 will come to an end in March 2026. And it doesn’t sound like it’ll be replaced any time soon.

Erm, that might be ambitious, because the Final Edition only really adds a special Frozen Matt Black paint option and some contrast red stitching for the interior. Shame.

We’re told that the special edition also gets the ‘M High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim’ which essentially means much more black where silver would look better. The Final Edition will be available with all engine options, which means a four-cylinder in the sDrive20i and sDrive30i, plus a straight-six in the Z4 M40i. Sounds like you’ll still be able to get the manual gearbox with the latter too. Maybe it will become a collector’s item after all…
