Good grief, Zeekr's all-electric 7 GT estate looks fantastic

Based on the 007 saloon, it could also adopt that 637bhp, dual-motor powertrain...

Published: 23 Jan 2025

Geely-owned carmaker Zeekr originally had its sights set on a UK launch with right-hand drive cars in 2025. Last time TG checked we were told that there were "no new updates on UK market entry", but if it does eventually happen we sincerely hope it brings this rather excellent-looking estate with it.

Dubbed the ‘007 GT’ (or ‘7 GT’ for markets outside of China, presumably after a fairly stern phone call from Barbara Broccoli), it’s the big-booted version of the all-electric 007 saloon that's already on sale in China.

These rendered images hint at a few design changes, including roof rails, two small rear spoilers and of course that longer roofline. Certainly a little bit of Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo about it, isn't there?

The GT also seems to get a slightly more aggressive front end with a sharp new front bumper and additional vents ahead of each front wheel. Sleek old thing, no? Oh, and worth pointing out here that, despite the name, the 007 is actually smaller and cheaper than the 001.

We haven't had any technical info through from Zeekr just yet, but if it got the same powertrain as the saloon it could mean a ranger-topper with a 637bhp/523lb ft dual-motor, all-wheel drive set-up, and 0-62mph in three-second territory. Yikes.

Underpinned by 800-volt architecture, the saloon's 100kWh battery also returns a claimed 540 miles of range, albeit on the Chinese CLTC cycle (which measures differently from Europe’s WLTP).

We’d also expect very few changes to the interior. The saloon gets a 15in OLED infotainment screen and 35.5in head-up display unit. Yes, 35.5in. Zeekr also throws in a 21-speaker audio system with nearly 2,000 watts of Dolby Atmos power. Other key points include a split panoramic roof, lots of microfibre suede and Nappa leather seats.

With the 001, X and 7X already on sale in parts of Europe, it'll be interesting to see whether Zeekr does actually come to Britain. If it does, reckon it should bring the 7 GT?
