First look: the new BMW 8 Series Convertible
Luxury drop-top goes hot weather testing in the USA
Here’s your first look at the brand new BMW 8 Series Convertible. These pics were taken during the car’s hot weather testing phase. No doubt crucial for this car’s core competency, no?
Because what is a luxury coupe if you can’t drive it in the sunshine? BMW took it for many, many miles between Las Vegas and Death Valley in the States, pushing it to perhaps a little more sunshine than most owners will likely experience.
We’re talking temps of over 50 degrees C, much dust, gravel and mountain runs. They even left it sat with its roof down in the blazing sunshine for hours, in order to check the electronics, sensors, cameras and audio systems still worked.
Once it’s been signed off here, it’ll move onto cold weather testing in Sweden, and then of course to the Nürburgring. Obvs. Have a look and let us know what you think...
