The all-new Kia Sportage is coming, and it'll look (a bit) like this
Optimistic sketch previews Kia's new small SUV, due to debut in Frankfurt next month
It’s just a sketch, but it’s a bold one, you’ll agree. And on 15 September 2015, this sketch will morph, Terminator-like, into the all-new Kia Sportage.
Yep, Kia has confirmed that a new, fourth-generation version of its small SUV will get a world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show, previewing a completely new “progressive design”.
On that design, Kia mentions that it will exude “power and agility from every angle”. We certainly hope there is more power and agility from the chassis, too, because though the Sportage has always looked good, its driving never matched up to the exterior promise.
No mention has been made about powertrains or, indeed, the chassis, but we’ll find out soon enough. We’re promised that while the outside will be “dramatically sculptured”, the interior will also be Kia’s poshest cabin yet.
Brave talk. We’ll find out if the real Sportage lives up to its sketch in just a few weeks’ time.
