This, everyone, is the Vygor Opera
Noted Scottish philosopher David Hume once remarked that "beauty in things exists in the minds which contemplates them". Thus, we are to believe you are the ultimate arbiter of what constitutes pretty things.
Challenge this premise by observing the image of the car above. What that image represents is the first offering from bespoke Tuscany-based carmaker Vygor, and it is called the ‘Opera'. It is a two-door, four-wheel-drive SUV-type GT car, and looks...unique.

Vygor will offer the Opera in various states of trim, bespoke to the individual customer, including 18in to 22in alloy wheel options, along with interior detailing. Power options will range from around 300bhp to 400bhp, tucked underneath a tubular frame chassis built of high-strength steel and composites. Overall, the whole thing is said to weigh around 1500kg.
Vygor reckons the Opera is "a pioneer of a new philosophy of cars that offer the comfort of an SUV and the pleasure of driving a GT", adding that the shape of the thing perfectly reflects harmony, elegance and sportsmanship according to Italian sportscar tradition. Erm, right.
So, is Hume correct? Or are there some things in material existence that simply go beyond the jurisdiction of individual human tastes? In other words, is it wonderful? Or is it just plain ugly and beyond any salvation? Just 150 will be built, if you're taken with it. Would you? Could you? Should you?
