Uh oh, looks like the new Manta will be a coupe crossover thing
The iconic Opel coupe is coming back, but not in the way we all wanted
“New Manta is set to be a fascinating and astoundingly spacious new interpretation of a classic,” said Vauxhall when it confirmed the return of the iconic Opel nameplate earlier this week.
And sadly yes, that is exactly what it sounds like – Vauxhall has now released a teaser image that shows the Manta will return as a coupe crossover. Doh!
Will this one rile the Internet as much as the Mustang Mach-E? It’ll certainly generate some headlines if it looks anything like the sketch above, that’s for sure. Vauxhall says the concept drawing was shown very briefly during an ‘investor electrification presentation’ last year.
Vauxhall has said that the new Manta-e will arrive by 2025 and that – unlike its forefathers – it will be sold in the UK.
What do we think, Internet? Slightly sad we aren’t getting the two-door coupe we’d dreamt of?
