The Skoda Enyaq Coupe has landed with a 295bhp vRS variant

Skoda has finally pulled the wraps off its chopped Enyaq Coupe, and there’s a brand-new vRS model to go with it.

Yep, Skoda’s first all-electric vRS is here, and the headline stats are as follows. The vRS gets the same 77kWh battery as all Enyaq Coupes (in the UK there’s no 58kWh option from the base-spec Enyaq SUV). That’s connected to two electric motors – one on each axle – for a total of 295bhp and a maximum of 339lb ft of torque.

Power is sent to all four wheels, with 0-62mph being dispatched in a not-hugely-quick 6.5 seconds. Top speed is limited to 111mph. Other powertrain options for the Enyaq Coupe include the single-motor, rear-wheel drive 80 with 201bhp and the dual-motor, four-wheel drive 80x that makes 261bhp. The swoopy new styling makes for a drag coefficient of 0.234 and gives a maximum range of 339 miles for the base-spec 80. That’s three extra miles compared to an Enyaq SUV with the same powertrain. Every little helps and all that.

Now, what do we think of the styling? The vRS gets a signature red reflector strip running across its hump, plus lots of black exterior detailing, 20-inch wheels with plastic aero blades (21-inchers are optional) and a standard light-up grille. All Enyaq Coupes get a new face, body-coloured side skirts and a panoramic glass roof, while SportLine trim and the full-fat vRS both include lower suspension and a ‘sports chassis’. The 'Hyper Green' paint is exclusive to the vRS too. 

The interior looks remarkably similar to the standard Enyaq, with the same 13-inch central infotainment screen and 5.3-inch digital display in front of the driver. The vRS gets giant bucket seats and plenty of badging to remind you that you’ve bought the quick one, though. Oh, and the big question on everyone’s lips (it is a Skoda after all)? Boot space. The coupe gets 570 litres of room behind the rear seats, which isn’t too much of a compromise on the SUVs 585 litres.
