Pininfarina Battista owners will get free electricity for five years

And they can have a fancy new wall box to match their 1,900bhp hypercar

We suspect the last thing the buyer of a £2million hypercar needs is free fuel. But the lucky blighters who’ve ordered a Pininfarina Battista are about to get exactly that.

Yep. Sink two mil into a 1,900bhp electric hypercar, get charging at 115,000 ChargePoint sockets across the US and Europe thrown in. For five years. Crikey. Via 180kW DC charging, their Battista can go leap from 20 to 80 per cent battery in 25 minutes.

Mind, the chance of one of these being hooked up idly on the street between a Leaf and an e-Golf is probably slim. And so Pininfarina’s got another new offering, too: a bespoke wall box to install at home, colour matched to your 12-seconds-to-186mph supercar.

Okay, the electricity won’t come for free here, and as a 22kW AC charger, a charge will also take longer – reaching 100 per cent takes up to six hours if you want the full 310-mile range when you leave the house. But, y’know. It’s colour matched…
