This is our first glimpse at the Polestar 5 saloon
Watch out Taycan and e-tron GT, the swoopy Polestar Precept's headed for production
Last year, we swooned over the Polestar Precept. An all-electric saloon car with the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT surely in its sights, it was a smart looking thing. Just not something we could actually buy.
But the Polestar 5 will be. This is our first glimpse at the car the Precept will become, a svelte fastback EV that’ll deploy batteries, motors and technology in thus far undetermined quantities. Yeah, we’ve not really been told much. Nor been given a peak at any other angles of the car.
“Precept was developed to preview the future of Polestar, embodying the company’s key pillars of design, sustainability, technology and performance,” we’re told. “Now seen with production readiness in mind, the Polestar 5 embodies the company’s increasingly independent and muscular design language, cues of which will already be seen on Polestar 3 that is expected to be launched in 2022.”
The Polestar 5 will appear in 2024, apparently. It’ll come with an interior abundant in recycled materials. And no doubt screens, too.
Excited? Reckon you’ll have this over an e-tron?
