Now the Americans have a Ford Mustang Mach-E cop car
The Mach-E is the first all-electric car to pass 'rigorous' Michigan State Police tests
Fun fact. The UK might just have beaten the US to having all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-Es dressed in police uniform.
If we have beaten our Stateside cousins, it’s all academic, for the two cars have appeared in pretty quick succession. So now it’s time to discuss the considerably more important issue at hand; which of the pair looks cooler? Or, more pertinently, scarier?
While our plug-in ‘Stang patrol car comes in traditional Battenberg livery – with a few little green flourishes, because even the Police like a humblebrag – the ‘Murican version is somewhat more stylish, we’d argue. At least in Michigan State Police livery, as we see it here.
Solid blue paint. Supremely bold font. No sirens, at least for now. It’s the scarier one to have swelling ever larger in your rear-view mirror, we’ve no doubt. Especially as you won’t have heard it coming.
It also has a boast, being the first all-electric vehicle to pass Michigan’s ‘rigorous’ evaluation process. “The fact that the Mustang Mach-E successfully stood up to the grueling Michigan State Police evaluation demonstrates that Ford can build electric vehicles that are capable, tough and reliable enough for even the most challenging jobs,” says Ted Cannis, boss of Ford Pro – aka Fords that do jobs.
Feeling like a miscreant just looking at it?
