Nissan’s new N7 is an Audi A6-sized electric saloon for China

Sleek saloon will be the first car to be built on Dongfeng Nissan’s new EV platform

Published: 18 Nov 2024

Dongfeng Nissan is – you guessed it – a joint venture between Nissan and Chinese company Dongfeng Motor Group, and it has just unveiled its next production car.

This is the N7 – an all-electric saloon with very similar proportions to the Audi A6 e-tron. We’re told that it’ll be the first car built on Dongfeng Nissan's new modular electric platform, although there’s no detail on motor power/battery size just yet.

No estimated range figures either, although there'll be an advanced driver-assist system known as ‘Navigate on Autopilot’ thanks to a partnership with autonomous driving tech firm Momenta.

Developed and built in China, the N7 will also feature plenty of screens inside with an infotainment system that’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor. Sounds fancy.

Nissan describes the external styling as “fluid and futuristic” and says that it was inspired by the Epoch Concept that was first shown at the Beijing Motor Show in April this year. Neat looking thing, isn’t it? More than a hint of Xpeng P7 in the design, though.

The N7 will go on sale in China in the first half of 2025. It’s apparently the first new model to form part of Nissan’s midterm plan ‘The Arc’ which will see the company “speed up the development and export of new energy vehicles from China”. Perhaps we could see the N7 on European shores after all, then.
