The Hyundai Prophecy is an interesting looking EV
Providing it looks as interesting as this dimly lit teaser pic suggests, anyhow
Another day, another dimly lit teaser image of an obscure angle of a car we’ll see in Geneva in a few weeks. Sigh.
This one’s pretty interesting, though. It’s the Hyundai Prophecy concept, and true to its name, it’s a peek into the future of plug-in cars. Happily, ones which are fun and performance-y.
There’s a hint of ‘pretend 911 in a computer game that can’t get licencing rights from Porsche’ about its hindquarters, but there are significantly worse places to take inspiration from. We’re intrigued to see more, that’s for sure.
You want some design speak? “Prophecy does not follow trends. It accentuates timeless beauty that will stand the test of time,” says Hyundai design chief, SangYup Lee. The Prophecy is described as a “design icon for Hyundai’s EV line-up”. Which kinda suggests it’ll be make production in one form or another. Surely it's hard to be a design icon if you're a concept car red herring, shoved away in a shed as soon as the Geneva doors creak shut.
Excited to see the rest of it?
