Hurrah! The Porsche Taycan configurator is live
Go forth and make the most garish combination you possibly can
If you’re like us here in the TG office, you’ll have wasted many lunch breaks by messing about on car configurators. The majority of that time, of course, is spent making the most outlandish (or most expensive) version of the particular car in question.
It’s all part of the game.
And now, thanks to the new Porsche Taycan configurator, we have fresh material for our procrastination.
The Taycan has launched in Turbo and Turbo S specs (yep, we know) with the equivalent of 625bhp being produced by their front and rear motors combined. The Turbo S, though, gets ‘overboost’ in sport mode – taking its total outlay to 761bhp. Wow.
Prices start from £115,858 for the Turbo, whilst the S begins at £138,826. In our attempts to make the most expensive version possible, though, we managed to spec up a Turbo S to £175,499.
Options on that attempt included the SportDesign package in carbon (£3,282), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (£2,315), Porsche InnoDrive including Adaptive Cruise Control (£2,172), 21-inch Taycan Exclusive Design wheels with carbon aeroblades (£2,912) and the Burmester Surround Sound stereo system (£3,245).
Think you can do better? Click here to have a go and then let us know in the comments.
The images above are of our attempt at making the most garish example of what is a really rather stunning car. How do you think we did? We can’t imagine many Taycans will be sold in that Carmine Red paint with body-coloured wheels. This one also has more badges than a spoilt child on its birthday.
