Alfa Romeo confirms its fully-electric Junior ‘Veloce’ will create 284bhp
You’ll also get 255 torques as a side dish and 215 miles of all-electric range for dessert when it goes on sale later this year
We’ve got some fresh details of the forthcoming pure electric Alfa Romeo Junior, folks. Specifically, its range-topping ‘Veloce’ trim will produce around 284bhp, 255lb ft of torque and draw an estimated 231 ‘what on earth is that grille?’ comments per minute.
And though the output may not sound like a lot (because it isn’t), Alfa has at least given the Junior a fair amount of beefing. That includes a sportier suspension which puts it 25mm lower to the ground than the mid-range Speciale, a Torsen limited-slip differential and chunkier brake discs.
In terms of range, customers can expect the Veloce to offer close to 215 miles between coffee breaks, courtesy of a 54kWh battery. And since the entire Junior range will support 100kW rapid charging, said coffee breaks may be shorter than you think. Provided you don’t get back to the car and realise the charger was faulty to begin with, obviously.
The Junior Veloce is expected to start at just over £42,000 when it becomes available for order in the coming months. For those who can’t wait, the entry-level electric Junior (£33,895) and Speciale (£35,695) can be had now.
