Your ultimate guide to the Detroit Show

Excitable rumours were no doubt muted by a healthy dose of car industry cynicism; there were to be no surprises at this year's Detroit Motor Show, especially not a brand new supercar from Ford.

And yet, Ford only went and announced the brand new GT; a 600bhp mid-engined supercar packing enough motorsport smarts to make your face hurt. It also looks bloody amazing, too. Combine that with the Shelby GT350R - a car that packs the most powerful N/A Ford engine ever - and it was clear who had pretty much won Detroit.

Of course, there was more on offer at the show, not least because Honda has finally, finally shown us the, um, final production version of the NSX that we're still hoping we'll see in this lifetime.

Then of course, we saw the roofless Alfa 4C and yet another 911 variant. Oh, and only the fastest ever Porsche Cayenne in history.

So it's not a new model, but who really cares? BMW brought along a highly regarded family member to the Detroit Motor Show party, and with pedigree like this classic beaut', who can begrudge them?

Yes, Ford is busy showing off the new F-150 Raptor, but this F-100 has to be one of the coolest pick-ups we've seen.

The new, 2015 Ford GT comes from a very distinguished family. Notably, this one.

It's the Nissan Titan XD!

Fittingly, Toyota brought along its surprise from last year's Detroit Motor Show, the stunning FT-1 supercar. Welcome back, old friend.

We first saw a version of this car last year, but here's the evolution: there are some exterior and interior tweaks, with a more spacious cabin, a driving range over 300 miles, a smaller fuel cell stack (with a greater power density too) and an expected Japanese launch in March 2016.
